This thesis examines how the fight against doping can be strengthened through athlete integrity, education and prevention. It analyses the evolution of WADA, the World Anti-Doping Code and the UNESCO Convention, highlighting the importance of moving beyond a purely punitive model toward a more proactive and values-based anti-doping system. The thesis focuses particularly on education programmes, athlete support personnel, doping control officers and whistleblowing mechanisms as essential tools to prevent violations and protect clean sport. Through the Russian doping scandals and key CAS cases, it shows how whistleblowers have exposed systemic failures, while also emphasising the need for stronger protection, psychological support and international cooperation.
It concludes with practical short- and long-term recommendations to improve education, coordination among anti-doping bodies and safeguards for individuals who report misconduct.
